Spring has officially arrived and it really feels like it today. It’s a sunny 75 degrees and a welcome reminder that no matter how things may look at the moment each year nature pushes through and begins again. The photo is of my daughter carrying a grape hyacinth nosegay from an early spring styled shoot years ago with Dahlia Florals and Jeff Tisman Photography.

This description of a nosegay is from a hangtag attached to a gift I received from UK based Lavender Green Flowers when I was in London this past fall at Engage! Summits. “Nosegays were introduced in the Middle Ages as a way to counteract the strong odors of everyday life, this being a time before public sanitation, when bathing was sporadic and when only the underclothes were washed frequently. The herbalist John Gerard recommended the use of violets, lavender and sweet marjoram in nosegays on account of their sweet scents.”

It will be nice for all of us to enjoy what we can of spring (while keeping a responsible distance from others) and I for one am looking forward to creating and celebrating the events of our clients again as soon as possible.
